Mediation & Arbitration Services
Welcome! Stephen M. Gaddis, as a mediator and arbitrator, offers a wide variety of skills and techniques to help you to achieve resolution of civil and family conflicts which may occur in a legal setting.
We utilize a virtual office, which lowers our overhead, keeps your costs down, and keeps us focused on what is important: YOU and your interests.
The conflict resolution processes of Mediation and Arbitration give you the chance to be heard and to voice your opinion about how you want to handle your dispute, without having to rely on our overburdened court system and its formulaic impersonal service.
Stephen Gaddis brings over 27 years of judicial experience as a retired Civil, Family Law and Ex-Parte Court Commissioner and Superior Court Judge in helping you discover the best way to resolve your differences. As a neutral mediator, it is not his role to give legal advice, so we encourage you to have an attorney present to help you understand your legal rights, options and responsibilities. What he can do is help you identify your individual interests and develop a strategy for attaining them, within the parameters of the law, the facts, and the experience of the parties. This process is unlike court, in which the goal is to follow precedents, that is, a rigid adherence to solutions reached by others, in differing circumstances.
Prior to and while on the bench, Stephen Gaddis was the author of a number of bills and court rules which respected the interests and needs of families and created alternative channels for encouraging self-determination and empowerment for individuals and families in their determining their own future.
