As the courts and legal practitioners have turned to "Appropriate Dispute Resolution" (ADR), thoughtful experts have created new channels for conflict resolution. Collaborative Law and Cooperative Law are two examples of these, both of which incorporate the values and principles of the mediation process within their span.
Stephen Gaddis has received basic and advanced training in Collaborative Law, has taught the application of Collaborative Law and Cooperative Law to lawyers and associated practitioners, and has authored a number of useful working tools to utilize in these processes. He has provided services in a number of Collaborative Law cases and has adapted the beneficial practices of Collaborative Law for use in Early Stage Mediation.
Early Stage Mediation allows parties to avoid contested court calendars entirely by expanding the role of mediator to "Dispute Resolution Specialist," who may assist the parties in voluntarily arriving at temporary financial and living arrangements, developing a case schedule attuned to the needs of the parties rather than the courts, and in providing informal, expedited, economical discovery (exchange) of relevant information.
